Ingrid Kõrvits worked as the conductor of the Ellerhein Children’s Choir from 1987 to 2011 and, since March 2011, continued her work conducting the Ellerhein Girls’ Choir. Since September 2012, Ingrid Kõrvits is the Head Conductor of the Ellerhein Choir Studio. In addition, she is the Conductor of the Tallinn Music High School’s Children’s and Youth Choir, a teacher of conducting and the Head of Conducting and Vocals Department.
Since 2002, Ingrid Kõrvits has been the Head Manager of the Song Festivals. In 2009, she was a part of the judge panel in the European Radio’s international choir competition “Let the People Sing” in Oslo in 2009. In 2011 and 2013, she conducted a workshop of Estonian choral music at the international choir festival Choral Crossroads in Limassol, Cyprus. Ingrid Kõrvits has won multiple awards in international choir competitions with her choirs. In 2005, Ingrid Kõrvits was awarded the Annual Prize of the Endowment for Music of the Cultural Endowment of Estonia and, in 2010, the Annual Prize of the Endowment for Folk Culture of the Cultural Endowment of Estonia. She was awarded as The Conductor of The Year 2010 by the Estonian Choral Society.
