Kaari Uus began her music studies at the Kuressaare Music School in the recorder but she later became interested in old bowed instruments. She graduated from the Estonian Music and Theatre Academy in viola da gamba (sup. Markkus Kuikka) and the nyckelharpa (sup. Karoliina Kreintaal), studying both baroque and traditional music. She has had further training in Basel, Switzerland with the gamba players Sergio Alvares and Rebeka Ruso. Kaari Uus works with various musical styles – baroque, medieval and folk music. Kaari has shared the stage with Kristo Käo, Reet Sukk, Kristi Saar, the Triskele Ensemble, Astrid Böning-Nõlvak, the Voces Musicales Chamber Orchestra and many others. She has performed at the Tartu Hanseatic Days, Jazzkaar, the Viljandi Folk Festival, the Valmiera Winter Festival, the old music festival Ceciliana, the Kuressaare Castle Days, the Viljandi Old Music Festival and the Runic Night Festival in Tartu.
