Manuel Lima (1981) is a pianist performer-composer. Themes in his work often includes creating irony around the notion of high culture, destabilizing the traditional concert setting, intimate stories, confessional elements and multimedia created for site-specific performances. Lima attended and received his Doctorate at CalArts in 2016 where he was also a lecturer. Compositionally, his diverse catalog includes works for dance, theater, cinema (and live cinema), television, sound installation, and orchestra. His latest album “3 6 Lessons” was released by Cafe Oto and his works were performed in Antwerp, Berlin, Brussels, Melbourne, London, Los Angeles, Tel Aviv, Stuttgart, Winnipeg and São Paulo.
