Thommy Wahlström (b. 1968) is a Swedish composer and musician educated in Composition/EAM at the Gotland School of Music Composition and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm under teachers Bill Brunson, Karin Rehnkvist, Henrik Strindberg, Lars Ekström, Johan Hammerth, Per Mårtensson. His music has been performed in several places in Sweden, Germany, Ireland and USA. Wahlströms music is often a combination of acoustic and electroacoustic music. In recent years, he has been concentrating on combining traditional notation with an ”alternative representation of sound and music”, which refers to the development of graphic scores. He plays the soprano saxophone in the bands Två Cirklar (improvised music), Barkbröder (impro/folk), Wahlström/Allard Duo (jazz) and Trio Quatuor (Early). He has performed in Europe, USA and India.
