The Estonian Maritime Museum promotes knowledge about, respect for and love of the sea. The Museum’s permanent exhibition and temporary stands are on at the unique Seaplane Hangar. In the end of 2019 the Museum opens their other venue at the building complex of Fat Margaret on the edge of the Old Town of Tallinn, which is currently under renovation.
The guests are surrounded by a genuine submarine Lembit, the oldest shipwreck from Estonian waters, sailing boats, mines, torpedoes etc. during the events held at the Seaplane Hangar. The Estonian Maritime Museum has been recognised with a number of awards for the renovation of the historic Seaplane Hangar, including Europa Nostra Grand Prix 2013 and Special Commendation from the European Museum of the Year 2014.
