Arturas Bumšteinas (*1982) is a Lithuanian composer working with and around sound and music in the very broad spectrum of expression. Artist’s intermedia output includes compositions, performative sound actions, radio art, sound installations and, recently, works for the theater stage. Arturas collaborated with many interesting artists such as Anton Lukoszevieze, Vladimir Tarasov, Lina Lapelytė, Krystian Lupa, Gintautas Trimakas, Piotr Kurek, Arma Agharta, Vaiva Grainytė, Laura Garbštienė. For the latest few years Arturas exhibited sound installations collaborating with sound designer Gitis Bertulis. Arturas had „solo“ exhibitions in Vilnius’ CAC, Galerija Vartai, AV17 and in several residencies around Europe. In 2017 Arturas was artist-in-residence at the DAAD Berliner Künstlerprogramm. Amongst the festivals where he presented his projects are such names as Unsound, The Holland Festival, Angelica, Skanumezs, Sacrum Profanum, Tectonics, Ultraschall. Since 2019 Arturas is also curating Jauna Muzika experimental music festival in Vilnius and cooperating with Operomanija on a new opera „Traviatas“.
