Liisa Hõbepappel (*1994) has studied journalism and composition. She has graduated from the composition department of the Tartu Heino Eller Music School and earned a degree in journalism at the University of Tartu. Since 2017, she is continuing her studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Toivo Tulev. She employs music to depict and analyse various social phenomena. For instance, her works have been performed by the Italian contemporary music ensemble L’Arsenale, the Estonian National Male Choir, the girls’ choir Ellerhein, the Young Men’s Choir of the Estonian National Opera, string quartet Prezioso, pianist Sten Heinoja, organist Kadri Toomoja, kannel player Anna-Liisa Eller, and others. Her journalistic texts have been published in the culture magazine Sirp and she has also collaborated with the Estonian Classical Radio channel.
