Paul Daniel (b. 1977) is a guitarist. He has performed or continues to perform with ensembles Elletuse, Ajavares, Lepaseree, in the project Homage to Veljo Tormis, etc. He has graduated from the jazz music department of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (2008). He released the solo album Greek Fire (“Kreeka tuli”) featuring his own instrumental music in 2014. Daniel has been the leader of the folk music ensemble Elletuse. The last album of the ensemble, Beauty Rode Along the River (“Ilu sõitis jõge pidi”) was released in 2017. Daniel collaborated as an arranger and co-author in the musical The Man Who Did Nothing (cooperation project of the VAT Theatre and Nuku Theatre, 2017). A CD with its music has also been released. Currently, Paul Daniel is studying composition with René Eespere. A selection of his works from 2021–2022: “Psalm 62” – a solo song, The Church Bells of Pankovitsa – for sinfonietta, Argumentum – for string quartet, Dance to Melancholy – for string orchestra.
