Estonian conductor Andres Kaljuste is described by maestro Paavo Järvi as “blessed with trademark instinctive musicianship, a sensitive approach to sound and an ability to form an easy and natural bond with orchestral musicians”.
His future engagements will see him making his debut with the Vaasa Sinfonia, Haydn Chamber Orchestra, Tallis Chamber Orchestra and Pärnu City Orchestra. Kaljuste will also return to conduct the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and Brandon Hill Chamber Orchestra with whom he will give a world premiére to Eleanor Alberga’s new symphony Strata.
Before taking up orchestral conducting studies at the Sibelius Academy, Kaljuste trained as a violinist and violist, gaining valuable experience as a player in top orchestras such as Philharmonia, Helsinki Philharmonic and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Ever since graduating Sibelius Academy orchestral conducting class he has appeared as a guest conductor including Helsinki Philharmonic, Lahti Sinfonia, Tampere Symphony Orchestra, Estonian National Opera, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, Aarhus Symphony Orchestra and Odense Symphony Orchestra.
