Vambola Krigul
Vambola Krigul (b. 1981) is one of Estonia’s leading percussionists, equally active as a soloist, chamber music and member of Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. Krigul graduated from Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with a master’s degree in 2006 and is currently in doctoral studies. As a soloist he has performed at prominent festivals in Estonia and premiered solo and ensemble pieces of numerous composers, Lepo Sumera, Toivo Tulev, Ülo Krigul, Galina Grigorjeva, Tatjana Kozlova-Johannes and Mirjam Tally to name a few. Krigul is a member of Ensemble U:, the founder of PaukenfEst percussion ensemble and the artistic director of international percussion festival “Percussion Plus” that took place in Tallinn, 2016.
