Astra Irene Susi is a director, composer, and actress. She graduated from the Tallinn Music High School with a focus on composition and piano (2017), earned a bachelor’s degree in composition from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (2023), and completed her acting studies with the 31st class of the Drama School (2024). She is currently working as an actress at the Endla Theatre in Pärnu and pursuing her master’s degree at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. In her work, Susi seeks to find connections between stage art and contemporary music, bringing performative musical works and music theatre productions to the stage. She has been active in the contemporary music scene for years, with her works performed at renowned concert venues in Tallinn and Berlin (EAMT Black Box, HFM Studio Hall, Estonia Concert Hall, Haus der Statistik). She has also performed as an actress in several productions. In 2021, Susi, together with Edoardo Micheli, created the music theatre production Terra Nullius, which premiered in Berlin. In 2024, she completed her first solo music theatre production Vankumatu, which was staged at the EAMT Black Box. In her creative work, Susi explores the potential of musical compositions to emotionally engage the audience by crafting emotional influences and landscapes.
