The Tallinn Chamber Orchestra (TCO) was founded in 1993 by conductor Tõnu Kaljuste. Over nearly three decades, the orchestra has become one of Estonia’s leading ensembles, highly sought-after on concert stages across Europe and beyond.
TCO’s diverse repertoire spans from Baroque, Classical, and Romantic works to music by 20th and 21st-century composers, including lesser-known pieces and world premieres of contemporary compositions. The orchestra’s highly acclaimed string players frequently perform as soloists and chamber musicians.
A long-standing collaboration with the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir has brought both ensembles international recognition and acclaim through joint performances and recordings. TCO has performed at prestigious music festivals worldwide and has embarked on numerous concert tours, taking the orchestra to the United States, Canada, Japan, China, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and most European countries.
In addition to playing in some of Europe’s most renowned concert halls, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra has also performed at Carnegie Hall in New York and the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing.
