Toompea 8b, 10130 Tallinn
Vabamu Museum of Occupations and Freedom is located in the center of Tallinn, right by Toompea. The museum’s permanent exhibition Freedom Without Borders introduces the history of Estonia during and after the Soviet and Nazi occupations, arriving at the era of restoration of independence. The focus on restoring and preserving freedom is central to Vabamu.
Visitors are guided through the exhibition by an e-guide in English, Russian, German, Latvian, Lithuanian, Finnish, French and Spanish. The e-guide helps visitors connect with the personal stories of those who experienced the historical events covered throughout the exhibition. Vabamu also hosts temporary exhibitions each year which open up different interpretations of freedom.
